Foods that are Loaded with Pesticides
From Women’s Health Letter
If you’re going to eat any of these, stick to organic!
The best way to avoid pesticides and toxins, of course, is to eat only organic food.
But buying organic food can be very expensive.
But here’s good news: you can drastically limit the amount of pesticides you consume, simply by avoiding the
most contaminated foods.
Recently, the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted more than 100,000 test to determine the pesticide content of
various fruits and vegetables. They washed the foods, pealed them when necessary,
and then tested them to see how much pesticide residue was left.
What they found was shocking: There was a huge difference between the most tainted and least tainted foods. For example, strawberries on average contain 24 times more pesticide residue than tomatoes. And peaches contain 568 times more pesticide than avocados!
Bottom Line: If you do nothing more than avoid the 12 most tainted foods, you’ll slash your pesticide exposure
by over 90%!
